Iconic Olivia Newton-John Outfit From ‘Grease’ Sold For Huge Amount At Auction
Whenever someone mentions the movie Grease, Olivia Newton-John's iconic black leather ensemble is what comes to many peoples' minds first. The outfit worn at the end of the classic 1978 movie was sold at an auction recently for over $400,000.
According to CNBC, the final price for the piece was $405,700 and was sold in Beverly Hills. It was sold for way above the estimated sale price of $260,000. It wasn't the only Newton-John outfit to be sold during the auction. They also auctioned off an iconic "Pink Ladies" jacket that went for $50,000.
The auction ended up bringing in $2.4 million overall for charity. Parts of the funds will go to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Center. The auction and charity are close to the actress's heart, as the 71-year-old is currently in battling stage four breast cancer.
