Ricky Gervais To Host The 2020 Golden Globes
If you're having a bit of deja vu with Ricky Gervais being announced as the host of the 2020 Golden Globes, that's because this will be his fifth time hosting. The 58-year-old comedian has previously hosted in 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2016.
"Once again, they've made me an offer I can't refuse. But this is the very last time I’m doing this, which could make for a fun evening," said Gervais in a statement.
He's known for not holding back when it comes to his comedy and often roasts guests in attendance.
"When Ricky Gervais is at the helm of the Golden Globes Awards, we can always expect the unexpected. We're excited to see it all unfold on Jan. 5," said Lorenzo Soria, president of the HFPA.
The 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards will air Sunday, Jan. 5 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC.
